Turn an image into a prompt

Use Describe to analyze an image and send an editable prompt to Generate.

Before you start

Choose a JPEG, PNG, or WebP image up to 10 MB that you are allowed to use.

Describe and refine

  1. Open Describe under Create.
  2. Drop an image into the upload area or click to browse. Use Replace image if you chose the wrong file.
  3. Select Describe This.
  4. Review the result under Generation prompt.
  5. Edit Editable prompt to add or remove details.
  6. Select Copy to use the prompt elsewhere, or Use in Generate to take it to the image generator.
  7. In Generate, review the prompt, dimensions, and style before selecting Draw this.

Expected result

Describe produces editable text. Sending it to Generate prepares the next step; starting image generation is a separate action.

Troubleshooting

If the image is rejected, check the type and 10 MB limit. A description is an interpretation, so correct details that were missed or misread. Generating from the prompt can create a different image rather than an exact copy of the reference.
